Fishin' Frenzy Even Bigger Catch
Blueprint Gaming's enhanced take on the classic fishing slot adds new layers to the formula that made the original a UK favourite.
Fishin' Frenzy Even Bigger Catch takes the familiar fishing theme and pushes it further into Blueprint's expanding aquatic universe. This iteration builds on the core mechanic players know — scatter-triggered free spins with a collecting fisherman wild — whilst introducing refinements that distinguish it from both the original and its immediate siblings in the series.
The game retains the accessible HTML5 format and straightforward reel structure that made Fishin' Frenzy a staple in UK online casinos, but wraps it in a more polished presentation and, as the name promises, bigger potential during the bonus round. It sits in the middle ground of the series: more ambitious than the original, yet less complex than the Megaways or Rapid Fire variants that followed.
Rules and Mechanics
Even Bigger Catch uses a five-reel, three-row grid with ten fixed paylines running left to right. Wins form when three or more matching symbols land on adjacent reels starting from the leftmost position. The paytable features the usual fishing iconography: colourful fish carrying cash values, tackle boxes, rods and lower-value card ranks.
The fisherman symbol acts as a wild, substituting for all symbols except the scatter. Three or more scatter symbols anywhere on the reels trigger the free spins feature. During free spins, any fisherman wild that lands will collect the cash values displayed on all fish symbols visible on that spin, adding them to your running total. The fish symbols themselves pay nothing during the bonus — their value exists purely to be collected by the wild. This creates the signature tension of the series: you need both fish and fisherman to land together for the feature to deliver.
- Five reels, three rows, ten paylines
- Scatter symbols trigger free spins
- Fisherman wild collects fish values during bonus
- Fish symbols show cash prizes in free spins
- Standard symbols pay left to right in base game
What Differs from Fishin' Frenzy and Its Place in the Series
The core difference lies in the potential of the bonus round. Whilst the original Fishin' Frenzy established the collect mechanic, Even Bigger Catch lives up to its name by offering enhanced prize values on the fish symbols and a generally more generous bonus structure. The visual upgrade is immediately apparent — sharper graphics, smoother animations and a more refined interface compared to the original's simpler presentation.
In the broader series timeline, Even Bigger Catch represents Blueprint's first major evolution of the formula before branching into Megaways mechanics and Rapid Fire features. It shares DNA with The Big Catch variants but predates the more experimental additions like Prize Lines and Fortune Play. For players who found the original too basic but find the later Megaways versions too chaotic, this sits in a comfortable middle position.
Demo, Mobile and Real Money
A free demo version is embedded on this page, allowing you to experience the full game without registration or spending money. The demo uses virtual credits and plays identically to the real-money version, including the same bonus triggers and paytable. It's an ideal way to understand the rhythm of the game and see how often the fisherman appears during free spins before committing your own funds.
The HTML5 build ensures seamless play across desktop, tablet and mobile devices without downloads or apps. To play for real money, you'll need an account at a UKGC-licensed online casino that offers Blueprint Gaming slots. Stake limits and maximum wins vary by operator, so check the game's information screen once loaded at your chosen casino. Remember that all slots favour the house over time — play within your limits and use tools like deposit controls and GAMSTOP if needed.
Tips for Playing Even Bigger Catch
Understand the Bonus Dependency
The base game pays modestly; the real action happens in free spins. Don't expect frequent big wins outside the feature. Manage your budget to survive the gaps between bonus triggers, which can be lengthy.
Watch the Fish Values
During free spins, note which reels show the highest fish values. The feature's success depends entirely on landing wilds when valuable fish are visible. One wild on a reel full of big fish beats five wilds collecting nothing.
Try the Demo First
Use the free version to get a feel for bonus frequency and typical returns before playing with real money. The demo shows you exactly what you're in for without risking your balance.
Set a Session Limit
These games are designed to keep you playing. Decide your loss limit before you start and stick to it. If you hit your limit or feel the urge to chase losses, stop and walk away.
Verdict: Solid Middle Child of the Series
by Editorial team · Updated on 3 November 2026
Fishin' Frenzy Even Bigger Catch does what it promises: it's a refined, more generous version of the original without straying too far from the formula. The improved visuals and enhanced bonus potential make it a genuine upgrade, whilst the straightforward mechanics keep it accessible to players who prefer classic slot structures over the complexity of Megaways or multi-feature games.
It won't surprise anyone familiar with the series, and the reliance on the bonus round for any meaningful wins means long dry spells are inevitable. But for fans of the fishing theme who want something more substantial than the original without the chaos of later iterations, this hits a sweet spot. Just remember that over time, the house always wins — play responsibly and within your means.
- Enhanced bonus values deliver on the «bigger catch» promise
- Polished presentation improves on the original's simplicity
- Straightforward mechanics suit both new and experienced players
- Free demo available for risk-free trial
- Base game offers little excitement between bonuses
- Bonus frequency can be frustratingly low during cold streaks
- Doesn't innovate meaningfully beyond bigger numbers
What players say
This is the sweet spot for me in the Fishin' Frenzy lineup. Better payouts than the original without the mental overload of Megaways. Had a session at partner casino 2 and hit three decent bonuses in an hour. Feels fairer than some of the later versions that just eat your balance.
Good upgrade from the original. Graphics are much nicer and when you do hit the bonus it actually pays. Lost a star because I went through nearly fifty quid before seeing free spins, which is rough. Play the demo first to see if the wait suits your patience.
Does what it says but nothing special. If you've played any Fishin' Frenzy game you know exactly what you're getting. Decent enough when the bonus lands but the base game is dead boring. Fine for killing time but don't expect fireworks.
Absolute bonus drought. Terrible.
